CAMDENTON WOMAN WINS LARGEST KENO PRIZE TO DATE

Story Photo Stopping by Risky’s Spirits and Pizza in Lake Ozark on her way home from work Jan. 30 paid off for a Camdenton woman, who won $40,000 playing the Missouri Lottery’s Club Keno game.   Christine Bartos, 56, said she stopped for a drink and decided to play Club Keno.  She said that she normally wagers $3 per game, but this time, she decided to wager $4 on an 8-spot game.  When all eight of her lucky numbers were drawn, she won $40,000 - the largest prize paid out in the game to date.

"I sat there and shook," said Bartos, who is a food server at J.B. Hooks restaurant in Lake Ozark.

Bartos said she plays numbers with the number "3" in them, since good things in her life show up in threes.   She also thought it was interesting that she won on the "30th" day of January ’03.  Bartos’ winning numbers were:  3, 13, 23, 33, 43, 53, 63 and 73.

Bartos said she plans to use her prize money to pay off credit cards and to pay expenses for an upcoming trip to Reno, Nev., for a national bowling tournament.

"Of course, I’m going to help my daughter, too," she said.

Club Keno began on May 28.   Players can win from $1 to $100,000 per $1 ticket per drawing.  For more information on the game, go to www.molottery.com.
