COLUMBIA MAN WINS $8,218 ON GAME SHOW

A business owner from Columbia won $8,218 on the Missouri Lottery’s "Fun & Fortune" television game show, which aired this past weekend.
Ken Cook, 51, competed in the show’s "Nest Egg" preliminary round where he won $6,819, $300 worth of "Lucky Hearts" Scratchers tickets and a seat in the "$10,000 Championship" round.
During the later round, Cook won an additional $1,000, bringing his total winnings to $8,218 to date. Cook will return again next week as the champion.
Cook purchased his qualifying ticket at Break Time, 2205 N. Stadium in Columbia. The store received $395.90, an amount equal to 5 percent of Cook’s winnings, for selling the qualifying ticket.
The other contestants and their winnings from last weekend’s show are:
- Geneva Huddleston, Jefferson City, won $4,326;
- Tom Wilds, Arnold, won $1,000;
- Harold Basch, St. Charles, won $600;
- Doug Birch, Hillsboro, won $600;
- Mavis Merritt, Florissant, won $500;
- Billie Kilgore, Liberty, won $500.
Nine home partners won a total of $1,804 on the show. Stephanie Washington, Florissant, won $692; Charlotte Nickels, Waynesville, won $652; Linda Eickhoff, Sedalia, won $100; Tony Cross, Houston, won $80; Bobby Joe Miller, Poplar Bluff, won $70; William Van Oster, Clinton, won $60; Larry Hume, Seymour, Gerri Roetemeyer, Marthasville, and Doris Mathews, Lawson, all won $50 each.
