MARSHALL MAN UNSCRAMBLES $50,000

A Marshall man is driving around in style after winning a $50,000 prize on a "Crossword" Scratchers ticket he purchased Dec. 6.   George Scarborough, 54, said he purchased two of the $3 "Crossword" tickets when he stopped in Bee Line Snack Shop in Marshall to buy cigarettes.  He scratched off the first ticket, but he didn’t win anything.  He scratched off most of the second ticket, knowing he had found six words, and then he went to bed.  The next morning when he resumed scratching, he discovered he won $50,000.

"You wouldn’t believe how hard I shook," he said.

Scarborough, who works at Continental Deli in Concordia, said he already bought a pick-up truck and a Chevy Blazer with his prize money.

The Missouri Lottery’s $3 "Crossword" game officially started Oct. 12.
