EDINA CASHIER RINGS UP $10,000 IN CASH

Story Photo A cashier at Fastop Convenience Store in Lewistown rang up an extra $10,000 for herself by playing the Missouri Lottery’s "$300,000 Cash" Scratchers game.   Dawn Darnell, 29, of Edina said she got off work on Christmas, got $20 from the ATM and put $10 worth of gas in her car.  A friend who was working at Fastop talked Darnell into buying one $10 "$300,000 Cash" instant ticket with the cash Darnell had left, and that ticket turned out to be worth $10,000.

Darnell, a mother of five children, said she plans to use the money to pay off all her bills and get a car.

"$300,000 Cash," the Missouri Lottery’s first $10 instant game, officially went on sale Aug. 24.
