A Salem mom had her horoscope come true this holiday season. Tonya Dooley bought a $20 Missouri Lottery “Winner Wonderland” Scratchers ticket on Dec. 18. When she played the ticket later, she was shocked to find a top prize worth $500,000. The first thing she did was call her father.

“I called my dad and gave him the news. I just started crying,” she explained.

Her dad, John Woods, went to her home and made sure she signed the back of the ticket.

Dooley, 33, said her horoscope predicted some kind of surprise was coming her way.

“My horoscope said that something will happen on the 18th or 19th that will set me up for the next year,” she explained. “This is really going to help us out.”

After confirming her big win with her dad, she decided to take a long ride in her Jeep.

“I just took a four hour drive down by the river to think about it,” Dooley shared.

Dooley, a single mother of three teenage boys, plans to pay off her house, car and student loans. She also wants to purchase a camper so she can camp comfortably on her father’s land at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Dooley purchased her ticket at Casey’s General Store, E. 800 Scenic Rivers Blvd., in Salem.

"Winner Wonderland" is a $20 ticket with a top prize of $500,000 and a chance to win up to 35 times on four different games.
