A routine stop for sodas and Missouri Lottery Scratchers tickets at a Silva convenience store has left a Greenville couple with a $100,000 prize.

“We’ll usually go by the Break Time for some sodas and will sometimes get some tickets,” said Paul Jaco, 50, of Greenville, who purchased his winning “Millionaire Riches” Scratchers ticket from Break Time, Highway 67 and 34 Junction, in Silva.

“I just happened to have an extra $20 bill in my pocket, and we decided to get two of those tickets.”

Jaco and his wife played their tickets after returning home, where they were surprised to see a $100,000 prize on one of the tickets.

“It was one of those situations where you kept looking, and looking, and looking at the ticket,” said Jaco.

The Greenville winner believes the winning ticket was purchased three to four weeks prior to claiming the prize on Nov. 10.

“We just waited so we could get a good look at our financial status and consider our options. We might invest some of the money, but will try to keep most in savings,” said Jaco.

Introduced on April 6, 2015, “Millionaire Riches” is a $10 Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket with a $1 million top prize. Jaco claimed one of 16 $100,000 prizes in the game with more than $11 million in total prizes remaining.
