Hollister Couple Seeing '7s' With $77,777 Top Prize

When most people think about winning the Missouri Lottery, they imagine receiving a big check with bunch of zeros. Gary Jones of Hollister would much rather see sevens on a check, and sevens are exactly what he got when claiming a $77,777 top prize on the Lottery’s “Ruby Red 7s” Scratchers game.

“My wife asked me to go down to Harter House and buy her some ‘Ruby Red 7s’ tickets. I ended up getting her four, brought them back to her, and was heading outside when she yelled, ‘Gary, come here. You need to look at this,’” said Jones.

One of the tickets Jones purchased for his wife, Sarah, contained a “BLACK 7” symbol, which was worth a $77,777 top prize in the game.

Jones purchased the ticket from Harter House, 175 Gage Drive in Hollister on Sept. 28, and was quick to claim the top prize at the Lottery’s Springfield regional office the following day. The couple was unsure as to what they would do with their prize at the time of claiming, but they might start looking into purchasing some additional land.
Ruby Red 7s” is a $5 Scratchers game that was introduced on April 25. With prizes ranging from $5 to $77,777, the game still has more than $7 million in total prizes remaining. An updated list of total prizes and all remaining prizes for each Scratchers game can be found here at MOLottery.com.
