A Gilliam woman now has some extra holiday cash in her pocket after scratching off a $1,000 prize on a $10 Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket, "$300,000 Season’s Greetings." Eva Reeves, 67, stopped in for cigarettes at the Pop Shop, 470 N. Miami in Marshall, when she decided to redeem a $5 prize from a ticket she bought earlier in the week and put it towards the purchase of a $10 "$300,000 Season’s Greetings" ticket.

"I saw the new $10 tickets in the bin and thought, ’why not,’" Reeves said.

Later, Reeves began scratching the winning ticket in her car.

"The prizes just kept adding up the more I scratched them off," Reeves said. "I was so nervous, I couldn’t finish scratching off the rest of the ticket."

A friend she was with at the time drove her to the nearest Break Time to have the ticket scanned.

"I just about passed out. If he (her friend) hadn’t been there to catch me, I believe I would have," said Reeves. "I just had to lean up against him."

Reeves, who is a retired laborer from Bag House Accessories, plans to use the money to help pay off some medical bills and set some aside for the holidays.

"$300,000 Season’s Greetings," which went on sale Nov. 2, offers a chance to win up to 24 times on one ticket and a top prize of $300,000.
