OKLAHOMA MAN WINS $30,000 IN ROLLA
An Oklahoma man who drove through Rolla won $30,000 on a Missouri Lottery "Mega Slots" Scratchers game. David "D.J." Mann Jr., 24, of Checotah, Okla., said he attended training in Jefferson City and was on his way back to Oklahoma on Oct. 29, when he stopped at Rolla Moto Mart for a soda and a candy bar. He had $2 left from his purchase, so he bought one "Mega Slots" ticket. That ticket turned out to be worth $30,000.
"I about had a heart attack," he explained of the day he scratched off the prize in the store.
Mann plans to use his prize money to buy a pig trailer and a four-wheeler. He also plans to share some with his parents. Mann works full time in the heating and air-conditioning business. He also helps his parents with their seasonal "Hickory Farms" store, and he raises show pigs.
