TIME IS RUNNING OUT ON TWO BIG PRIZES SOLD IN

Two significant Missouri Lottery prizes sold in New Florence are getting close to their redemption deadlines. The prizes are: a $100,000 Powerball prize sold at Abel’s Quik Shop, 431 Booneslick Road, for the July 20, 2002, drawing, which expires on Jan. 15, 2003; and a $50,000 tax-paid SHOW ME 5 Paydown prize sold at Junction Fuel and Grocery, Highway 19 and Interstate 70, for the Dec. 7, 2001, drawing, which expires Dec. 7, 2002. "If you have tickets you bought in New Florence lying around your house or in your car, be sure to check them," said Gary Gonder, director of communications for the Missouri Lottery. "It would be a shame for players to miss out on these great prizes." The winning numbers for the July 20, 2002, Powerball drawing were: 2, 3, 6, 13 and 26. The winning numbers for the Dec. 7, 2001, SHOW ME 5 Paydown drawing were: 1, 7, 10, 23 and 28. In addition to the two prizes sold in New Florence that are unclaimed, there are also two other $100,000 Powerball prizes that have not been claimed. Those tickets were sold in St. Louis and Kansas City. Gonder said prior to July 1, Missouri Lottery players had one year to claim Lottery prizes. However, as a result of a law change during the past legislative session, Missouri Lottery prizes must now be redeemed within 180 days of the drawing.
