A 41-year-old Plattsburg woman won $100,000 in the Oct. 16 Powerball drawing. Deesta Hoover said she plans to use the windfall to buy a travel trailer and a computer. She also plans to use some of the money to pay for some dental work and invest some money to buy a house in the future.

Hoover, who is a community support worker for a drug treatment center in Kansas City, said she has been playing the same set of numbers for about four years. She selected those numbers at random. They are: 8, 11, 24, 31 and 37.

Hoover purchased her lucky ticket the morning of the drawing at Hy-Klas Foods, 103 N. East in Plattsburg.

To date, 620 Powerball tickets sold in Missouri have matched all five white-ball numbers drawn to win the $100,000 prize.
