LOTTO TICKET STILL NOT CLAIMED

After one week, a Missouri Lotto ticket worth $3.1 million sold in N. Kansas City has yet to be claimed. The winning ticket for the Oct. 9 drawing was sold at QuikTrip, 2121 Burlington in N. Kansas City. The winning numbers were: 2, 6, 13, 24, 29 and 42.

"Everyone who shops at this location needs to check their tickets carefully," said Gary Gonder, communications director for the Missouri Lottery. "If you have the winning ticket, be sure to sign it and put it in a safe place until you can get to a Missouri Lottery office."

Missouri Lotto players have exactly 180 days from the drawing date to claim jackpot prizes, which means the winner would have until April 6, 2003. The winner has 60 days from the drawing to choose if he or she would like to take the jackpot in one lump sum, which in this case would be approximately $1.5 million before taxes, or in 25 annual payments of approximately $124,000 a year before taxes. If no choice is made in 60 days, the jackpot is automatically paid out in 25 annual payments.

The office closest to N. Kansas City is in Independence at 3630 Arrowhead Ave.

To date, 133 Lotto tickets worth $1 million or more have been sold since the game began 16 years ago.
