FAMILY BIRTHDAYS BRING BROOKFIELD WOMAN $50,000 PRIZE

A Brookfield woman used a combination of family birthdays to win $50,000 tax paid* in the Sept. 21 Missouri Lottery’s SHOW ME 5 Paydown game. Roberta White, 48, said she bought her winning ticket at Express Depot in Brookfield. Those numbers were: 2, 5, 14, 16 and 24.

White, a supervisor for a medical uniform company, plans to use the prize money to pay bills.

To date, 45 players have matched all five numbers drawn to win $50,000 tax paid in SHOW ME 5 Paydown since the game began Nov. 6, 2000.

* The Missouri Lottery will pay 27 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on it’s value. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund. Total value of the top prize is $72,463.76. After withholding, winners will receive $50,000. If more than 14 players match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will be divided equally among the number of winning tickets.
