A mom from St. Mary and a dad from St. Charles are each $10,000 richer after participating in the Missouri Lottery’s third "Fun & Fortune Wheel Spin" held at 2 p.m. Sept. 20 in Jefferson City. Sheila Williams, a 32-year-old mother of three from St. Mary, and Paul Bosslet, a 47-year-old father of three from St. Charles, each landed on a $10,000 spot, in addition to the $500 they won by being a weekly finalist. Emma Houston and Clara "Venus" Orr, both of St. Louis, each won $5,000 in the "Wheel Spin" event. Both women also received $500 as a weekly finalist.

"Now I can go to nursing school in October," said Sheila Williams, who is a server at Denny’s restaurant. "I’ve always wanted to be a nurse."

Williams said she plans to use her $10,500 prize money to buy a car to get her back and forth to nursing school. She bought her qualifying ticket at Rhodes 101 Stop in Ste. Genevieve.

Paul Bosslet said he plans to use his prize money to buy a new top for his Jeep, pay some bills and save the rest. Bosslet is a senior technician for bioMerieux Inc. in St. Louis. He purchased his qualifying ticket at Schnucks Market, 94 Plaza Drive in St. Peters.

Emma Houston, 50, (63113) is a teacher’s assistant for disabled students. She said she plans to use her $5,500 prize money to take her family and friends to dinner and have a "very nice Christmas." She bought her qualifying ticket at J.R. Cigars in Clayton. In addition to being on today’s Wheel Spin event, Houston said she participated in the Missouri Lottery’s Jackpot! Wheel Spin in 1986 and won $2,000.

Clara "Venus" Orr, 38, (63147) plans to use her $5,000 prize money to buy a "nice outfit" for her wedding next month and to pay for a wedding reception. She purchased her qualifying ticket at The Village Café on Market Street in St. Louis.

The new "Fun & Fortune Wheel Spin" replaced the televised "Fun & Fortune" game show. For a chance to win $500 and a chance to spin the wheel, players need to buy a new $2 "Fun & Fortune" wheel spin Scratchers ticket. If the ticket is a winner and the prize is "ENTRY," the ticket should be mailed to Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City to be placed in a weekly drawing. Each week, 10 of these "ENTRY" tickets will be drawn, and those winners will receive $500. In addition, one of these 10 preliminary winners will be drawn for a chance to spin the wheel and win up to $250,000. The smallest amount a player can win in the wheel spin is $2,500.

The "Fun & Fortune Wheel Spin" is open to the public. It is also streamed on the Lottery’s Web site for players to watch from anywhere in the world.
