PATTERSON MAN WINS $100,000 USING CHANGE FROM DOLLAR STORE
A visit to a dollar store parlayed into a $100,000 prize for a retired Patterson man. Robert "Bob" Brown, 71, said he had an extra dollar when he left a local dollar store, so he decided to use it to buy a Powerball ticket for the Jan. 23 drawing at a convenience store. That decision netted him a $100,000 prize.
Brown purchased his $1 winning ticket at Town & Country, 7 Hal’s Plaza in Piedmont. He let the computer generate the lucky combination. Those numbers were: 14, 18, 30, 32 and 47.
Brown said he plans to use his winnings to buy a new pickup truck and do some remodeling on his house.
To date, 577 Powerball tickets sold in Missouri have matched all five white-ball numbers drawn to win the $100,000 prize.
