Mountain View Man Pockets $100,000 Win

A Mountain View man was shaky and nervous after he scratched a winning ticket worth $100,000. Ronnie Pruett purchased a “20X The Cash” Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket on Sept. 16. He says he was skeptical when he thought his ticket was a big winner.

“I just scratched the winning numbers first and not the prize amounts. I thought I maybe won a couple hundred dollars or something,” Pruett said.

“Then I took the ticket back into the store, and they scanned it and it said $100,000.”

Pruett, 48, claimed his win at the Lottery’s Springfield office on Sept. 16, the same day he purchased the ticket at Town & Country Supermarket, 355 Fifth St., in Mountain View. At the time he claimed his ticket he hadn’t had time to tell his family about the win.

“My wife, Laura, doesn’t know I’m here and that we won $100, 000,” he added.

Pruett is a bucking machine operator for a pallet manufacturing company. He says he will buy a new car for his wife and pay bills with his winnings. Then he plans to sit back and “just think about it.”

"20X The Cash" is a $5 ticket and offers more than $18 million in available prizes.
