A Jasper county woman is planning to do some good with a recent $57,777 Missouri Lottery Scratchers top prize. Evelyn Roberts of Webb City uncovered a top prize on the Lottery’s $3 “Red Hot 7s” Scratchers ticket after purchasing the ticket from Casey’s General Store, 444 W. Coler St., in Neosho.

“It was just one of those things where I’ll buy a ticket every so often,” said Roberts. “If you have a few extra dollars, why not take a chance?”

Roberts likes to sporadically purchase Scratchers tickets and play them over time. When she uncovered a $57,777 top prize in the “Red Hot Cherries” game on Aug. 22, the retired grandmother traveled to the Lottery’s Springfield regional office to claim her prize.

The middle child to two brothers, Roberts plans to use her winnings to support her younger brother, who has cancer, and her older brother to help make ends meet.

“You can’t win if you don’t play. What’s the harm in taking a chance if you’re going to do something good with it,” concluded the winner.
A $3 Scratchers game, “Red Hot 7s” was introduced on Dec. 29, 2015, and features prizes ranging from $3 to multiple $57,777 top prizes. An updated list of remaining prize amounts for all Missouri Lottery Scratchers games can be found here at MOLottery.com.
