KC Power and Light Employee Shocked After Lottery Win

A Kansas City Power and Light employee recently won $100,000 with a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket. Daniel Hall, 38, purchased a “$1,000 Frenzy” Scratchers ticket on his birthday, Aug. 18, and got a big surprise. He bought his winning ticket at Hy-Vee, 1201 SW Third St., in Lee’s Summit.

“I went with my dad to the store to buy some lottery tickets. My dad bought two tickets just ahead of me,” Hall chuckled. “My dad said all kinds of naughty words when he saw me win $100,000.”

Hall, Lee’s Summit, called his wife, Wendy. She didn’t believe he had won until he texted a picture of the ticket to her.

“We’re getting ready to close on a house next week, so this will help with some of those expenses,” Hall said.

Hall’s advice to other Lottery players is “buy tickets right after my dad.”

"$1,000 Frenzy" is a $10 game with a top prize of $1 million.
