People daydream about winning the Missouri Lottery all the time. When Deanna Smith’s mother woke up from a dream about winning a $100,000 prize, she insisted that Smith go to Crown Mart, 8319 Jennings Station Road in Jennings, to purchase a $5 “Triple Cherry Crossword” Scratchers ticket.

“She woke up from this dream talking about winning a $100,000 prize off a crossword ticket and made me go buy it. She even told me where to go,” recalled Smith. “She said, ‘You need to go now. Don’t waste time. Go.’ I almost didn’t even go because I wasn’t feeling well.”

After returning home, Smith gave her mother the Scratchers ticket to play.

“She went into her bedroom to play it, walked back out and just calmly handed it to me like it wasn’t a big deal. I’m like, ‘This is actually $100,000!’” said Smith.

Not wanting to make a big deal about the win, the mother gave the ticket to Smith to claim at the Lottery’s St. Louis regional office. Smith’s mother plans to split the prize with their family.

“I think she’s hoping to buy a house with her money. I’m going to buy my son a new bedroom set, some tennis shoes and pay off a bill,” concluded Smith.
A $5 crossword-inspired ticket, “Triple Cherry Crossword” was introduced on March 7 and offers players prizes ranging from $5 to $100,000. Remaining prize amounts for all Missouri Lottery Scratchers games can be found here at MOLottery.com.
