A stop by Quick Run, 675 S. Odell Ave. in Marshall, while on her way out of town has landed Jennifer Breshears a $20,000 Missouri Lottery prize. Breshears, 33, was with her boyfriend, Marcos, when they purchased a winning “Double Match” Scratchers ticket on July 22.

“He likes to play Scratchers whenever he has a little extra cash,” said Breshears. “He called me from home while I was on my way to visit my mom and asked how much a gas station could pay out for a Lottery win. I told him $500 or $600 depending on the gas station, and he said no gas station could cash this ticket.”

While claiming the couples’ prize on July 26, Breshears admitted that she and her boyfriend were both bewildered with the news of their win, but Marcos was a little more guarded with the ticket.

“He didn’t even let me see the ticket until I could come in today to claim it,” quipped Breshears.

With the $20,000 prize, the Marshall resident plans on purchasing some back-to-school supplies for the couples’ son, as well as devoting some funds towards helping relatives.

Double Match” is a $2 Scratchers ticket with prizes ranging from $2 to $20,000. Introduced on June 27, Breshears claimed one of nine $20,000 top prizes, with more than $8.9 million in total prizes remaining in the game. Remaining prize amounts for all Scratchers games can be found here at MOLottery.com.
