Illinois Woman Finds Luck in Missouri

Story Photo

Rebecca Davis doesn’t live far from Missouri in Dallas City, Ill., but you might say her luck lies in Missouri. She met her husband, John Eley, when he came east to work as a union steelworker. She was dropping him off at his current work on a bridge in Missouri and stopped at Ayerco, 8800 Highway 24 in Taylor, to buy a few Scratchers tickets. One of those tickets was worth $10,000.

When she uncovered the prize in the car, the two of them decided to drive to Jefferson City that day. She purchased her “$500,000 Taxes Paid” Scratchers ticket on July 14. Plans for the cash include paying some bills and upgrading the vehicle.

While Eley may be the more frequent Lottery player of the two, Rebecca said she’ll keep playing.

“You can’t win if you don’t play,” she said.

$500,000 Taxes Paid” is a $10 game that officially began Dec. 29, 2015. More than $12 million in prizes remain, including one top prize. Track prizes remaining for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers game here at MOLottery.com.
