A Niangua man can start planning a legendary “sportscation” after his name was drawn yesterday in the first drawing of the Missouri Lottery’s “Second Chance of a Lifetime: Summer Sportscation” promotion, which started May 16. Dale Peneyra will receive his choice from among six unique trips: a trip to football’s biggest game in either 2017 or 2018; a Hawaii surf experience; a Vegas stock car race; skiing in the French Alps, golfing in Scotland or a trip to baseballs’ mid-season classic in Miami.

In addition to the first-prize trip winner, two entrants were also drawn to win a Missouri “sportscation” of their choice closer to home. Michael David of Kansas City and Angela Maasen of Jefferson City will each get their choice from among sports-themed vacations in St. Louis, Kansas City, Branson or Lake of the Ozarks.

Another 10 entrants were drawn to win $1,000 cash. All prizes in the promotion are tax-paid.

Two more drawings remain in the promotion on July 21 and Aug. 25. To enter, players will receive one entry for each $10 worth of any eligible Scratchers tickets or Draw Games tickets entered into their My Lottery® Players Club account. They choose which of the three drawing categories they would like their entry to go toward – the legendary “sportscation,” Missouri “sportscation” or cash.

In addition to the three big drawings, the Lottery has also been holding weekly merchandise drawings on Tuesdays, which started May 24 and will run through Aug. 23. Fifty winners are drawn each Tuesday to win a sports-themed merchandise item of their choice, including bicycles, fishing and golf equipment, elliptical machines and more. A total of 700 weekly sports prizes will be awarded.
