Salem Retail Location Generates $240,000 for Public Education

For the first time ever, Phil-Mart, 500 S. Main in Salem, is being inducted into the Missouri Lottery’s 2015 Million Dollar Club. The elite Club is comprised of all Missouri Lottery retailers that sold more than $1 million in Lottery products during a given calendar year, collectively generating millions to public education.

“Phil-Mart is joining the ranks of our highest-selling retail locations,” began May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery. “The 2015 Million Dollar Club is comprised of 28 retail locations, which collectively generated more than $8.6 million for public education based on their Lottery sales in 2015. Lottery sales from this Phil-Mart alone contributed more than $240,000, and we could not be more pleased.”

Reardon continued, explaining that sales from every Missouri Lottery retailer benefits public education, and that the Million Dollar Club is a way to honor retail locations that are going above and beyond to raise money for a variety of programs, including A+ Scholarships, Virtual Schools, Special Education Excess Costs, Access Missouri, the Classroom Trust Fund, library acquisitions and educational scholarships.

“In honor of their success, we hosted a customer appreciation at Phil-Mart to celebrate the store’s accomplishment and reward their customers by awarding prizes,” Reardon said.
