Owensville Break Time generates $244,000 for Public Education

For the first time, Break Time, 702 W. Highway 28 in Owensville, has sold more than $1 million in Missouri Lottery products during one calendar year. In honor of their efforts, Break Time is being inducted into the Missouri Lottery’s annual Million Dollar Club – an elite group of retailers that sell more than $1 million in Lottery product during a given year.

“This is the first time that this Break Time location has been welcomed into the Club. Based on their Lottery sales in 2015 alone, public education benefited more than $244,000,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery.

“Break Time is one of 28 Lottery retailers being welcomed into the 2015 Million Dollar Club. These 28 elite locations collectively generated more than $8.6 million for public education based on their Lottery sales last year. Because of their dedication, public education is the real winner.”

Reardon explained that the Million Dollar Club is a way to honor retail locations that are going above and beyond to raise money for a variety of programs, including A+ Scholarships, Virtual Schools, Special Education Excess Costs, Access Missouri, the Classroom Trust Fund, library acquisitions and educational scholarships.

“We are hosting a customer appreciation at this Break Time today to celebrate the store’s success and reward their customers by awarding prizes,” Reardon said.
