Raytown Hy-Vee Generates More Than $244,000 for Public Education

Last year was a landmark year for Hy-Vee, 9400 E. 350 Highway, in Raytown. In 2015, the Missouri Lottery retailer sold more than $1 million in Lottery products, earning the retail location membership in the Lottery’s 2015 Million Dollar Club. The elite group consists of 28 Missouri Lottery retailers who sold more than $1 million in Lottery products during the past year, collectively contributing millions to public education. To celebrate the achievement, the Missouri Lottery hosted a customer appreciation event at the location on April 29.
“All of our retail partners make a difference for Missouri public education,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery. “Sales from this Hy-Vee location alone generated more than $244,000 for public education, and we couldn’t be more proud.”
Reardon explained that the Million Dollar Club is a way to honor retail locations that are going above and beyond to raise money for a variety of programs, including A+ Scholarships, Virtual Schools, Special Education Excess Costs, Access Missouri, the Classroom Trust Fund, library acquisitions and educational scholarships.
“The customer appreciation event is our way to both celebrate the store’s success and reward their customers by awarding prizes,” Reardon said.
