Joplin Couple Splits $100,000 Lottery Prize

Story Photo

A young Joplin couple has a new outlook following a $100,000 Missouri Lottery win. Brandon Willard and Bethany Long have two children together and another on the way. They enjoy playing bingo and crossword Lottery games because they “take a little while” to play. Willard brought home a “Triple Cherry Crossword” Scratchers ticket on April 13 that concealed the $100,000 top prize.

“It was like a dream,” said Willard, 28, about the moment they uncovered the prize.

Plans for the windfall were easy. The couple plans to buy a house, a car, and use some of the money to finally get married.

“It just wasn’t possible, financially,” said Long, 22. “Now it is.”

Willard purchased the winning ticket at Z’s Drive Thru Liquor & More, 1620 S. Main St., in Joplin.

Triple Cherry Crossword” is a $5 game that officially began March 7.  This is the first of five top prizes to be won in the game. Track prizes for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers game here at MOLottery.com.
