Cole County Man Follows Intuition To Lottery Win

When Greg Maire gets what he calls his “Greg feelings,” he has learned to follow his intuition. That feeling led Maire, 51, to a $10,000 Missouri Lottery win when he purchased a “$1,000 Frenzy” Scratchers ticket on April 9. He says he began having these lucky hunches after a major event in his life.

“I am a stage 4 cancer survivor. I went through 41 rounds of chemotherapy in 2006 and several operations. It was living hell,” Maire confided.  “Ever since then, I get these feelings every so often that have led me to lucky situations.”

His “Greg feeling” caused him to purchase his winning ticket at Everyday Convenience, 910 Fairgrounds Road, in Jefferson City. He hid the ticket in the glove box of his car until he could claim his winnings at Lottery headquarters. Marie says the win comes at a good time. The single father of three kids is only able to work part time and has trouble making ends meet.

“I’m just very, very grateful. I’ll spend this money wisely,” he added.

“$1,000 Frenzy” is a $10 ticket with a top prize of $1 million.
