$100,000 Provides 'Nice Shot in the Arm'

A visit with family in Licking and a “spur-of-the-moment” Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket purchase resulted in a $100,000 prize for Tony Kinnaird of Neosho.

“We’ve got a family farm back in that area. Just happened to be going through town with my mom to get something to drink and picked (the ticket). It was just spur-of-the-moment,” recalled Kinnaird, 37, who purchased his winning “Millionaire Riches” ticket from J&D’s Liquor and Package Store, 102 Industrial Street, in Licking.
Kinnaird waited to play his “Millionaire Riches” Scratchers ticket until he returned home to Neosho on March 13. Once he and his wife realized that he had won a $100,000 prize, the father-of-two called his parents to share the good news.

“I work in investments. I’m excited to get $100,000 dollars, but I would have loved $10 million to be honest, or that $1 billion Powerball. I’ll take what I can get, though. It’s a nice shot in the arm to say the least,” laughed the winner.
By the time Kinnaird claimed his $100,000 prize at the Lottery’s Springfield regional office on March 16, he had all but made up his mind on his plans for the prize.
“It’s going straight into the investment account. I’m sure we will make a few small purchases, but investment is what I do for a living, so I’m going to take my own advice.”
Introduced on April 6, 2015, “Millionaire Riches” is a $10 Scratchers game with more than $16 million in remaining prizes, including a $1 million top prize. Remaining prize amounts for all Scratchers games can be found here at MOLottery.com.
