Steve Chuning is a former Missouri resident who now lives in Kansas City, Kan. Even though he lives across the border, he still returns to Missouri to play the Lottery. He bought a Show Me Cash ticket from Please Stop, 7500 NW River Park Drive in Parkville, that resulted in a $95,000 jackpot.

“I’d much rather play in Missouri than I would Kansas,” he explained. “I like the Scratchers in Missouri, better.”

That thinking paid off handsomely for Chuning, 65. He’s retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, but he still works a few hours each week at a local liquor store. He told his wife on the day of the drawing, Feb. 23, that he was going to go get a few more tickets.

“I didn’t really think about it. I just got an ink pen and scratched some squares, and that was it,” he recalled.

He matched all five winning Show Me Cash numbers that night, which were:  10, 17, 26, 34 and 36.

“It seems like dream,” said Chuning. “We’re going to pay off our vehicles, and we’re in the market to buy a house right now, so I might put a little bit on that.”

Chuning stated that he’ll keep playing the Missouri Lottery.

“I want to hit that Lotto,” he declared. “You just gotta keep playing.”

Show Me Cash is a daily Draw Game with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until someone wins. In the last year, 48 Show Me Cash jackpots have been awarded for an average amount of $167,000.

Please Stop received a $500 bonus for selling the winning Show Me Cash jackpot ticket.
