Historic Powerball Run Led to Scores of Missouri Winners

Even though last month’s jackpot wasn’t hit in Missouri, many Missouri Lottery players scored big during the record-breaking Powerball run, which saw the jackpot grow from $40 million on Nov. 7, 2015, all the way up to $1.5 billion when it was won on Jan. 13.

During the run, one Missouri ticket won $1 million by matching all five white-ball numbers:

The two-month jackpot run paid out more than $8.5 million in Missouri prizes, and it brought in approximately $23.5 million for public education. Retailers earned approximately $3.1 million in commissions and bonuses from Powerball alone during this time.
