May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery, was elected president of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) during the organization’s annual conference last week. She is also a member of NASPL’s government relations and business product development committees and previously served as the second vice president, treasurer and Region III Director of NASPL.

"I really look forward to working with May as the new NASPL president,” said David Gale, executive director of NASPL. “This will be another challenging year for us in so many areas, and May is the perfect individual to lead the Association at this time.”

As the Missouri Lottery director since December 2009, Reardon has led the organization from sales of $968.5 million to more than $1.1 billion and profits for public education from $259 million to a record high of $288.8 million.

Before coming to the Missouri Lottery, Reardon worked as director of development at the Richard A. Gephardt Institute for Public Service at Washington University in St. Louis and taught political science and communications at Webster University from 2005 to 2009. Prior to that, Reardon was a Missouri state representative for 12 years.

Reardon holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Saint Louis University and a master’s degree in communications from Webster University.
