He may have bought the $100,000 winning Missouri Lottery ticket, but one Willow Springs couple is splitting the prize. Rickey and Jennifer Worley will each take half of the prize from the “Millionaire Riches” Scratchers ticket purchased while Rickey was on a break during his delivery run. Making a regular stop on Oct. 2 at Love’s Travel Stop, 3500 Hy Point Industrial Park Dr. in Rolla, Rickey, 48, bought some tickets to pass the time and began texting Jennifer pictures of his find.

“He didn’t even have the whole ticket scratched before he told me,” began Jennifer. “I thought he was pulling my leg. He sent me a picture of one number scratched at the top and one scratched at the bottom, and it was only at $4,000 at that point. I said, ‘You’re tricking me, because if you had already uncovered one, you would have scratched the whole ticket before you stopped to take a picture.’ And, he wasn’t.”

Jennifer, 45, tried to text him back, but Rickey wasn’t answering. So she ran outside her work as an air ambulance compliance assistant and called him for more details.

“How much? How much?” she asked Rickey.

“I can’t add and talk to you at the same time!” he replied.

Rickey was still working on uncovering the full prize.

“I kept scratching, and other numbers started matching,” he recalled. “I thought, ‘Holy, cow.’ It was shocking.”

He told his wife that she would have to keep working for now, but it seems that Jennifer will be getting a new car.
“She needs a new car desperately, so she’s going to get a new car,” he explained. “And, like everybody says, pay off the bills. That’s great. We were doing all right, but this helps a lot.”

Though it’s still not condoned by Jennifer, Rickey said he’ll stick to his habit of playing an occasional ticket on his delivery runs.

“I do Powerball,” he said. “A lot of times, I just buy them and take them with me to scratch later.”

Millionaire Riches” is a $10 game that officially began April 6. The game features a top prize of $1 million. More than $23 million in prizes, including two top prizes, remain in the game. Track prizes remaining for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers game here at MOLottery.com.
