MACON WOMAN WINS $53,095 ON GAME SHOW

A retiree from Macon won $53,095 on the Missouri Lottery’s "Fun & Fortune" television game show, which aired this past weekend. Rosalie Giles, 84, competed in the show’s "Nest Egg" preliminary round where she won $2,795, $300 worth of "Crazy 8s" Scratchers tickets, and a seat in the "$10,000 Championship" round. During the later round, Giles won $10,000 but opted to risk losing half or increasing to nearly $250,000 during the "Mega Multiplier" bonus round. In the end, Giles won an additional $50,000 for a total to date of $53,095. She will return again next week as the champion. Giles purchased her qualifying ticket at Ice House in Macon. The store received $2,639.75, an amount equal to 5 percent of Giles’ winnings, for selling the qualifying ticket. The other contestants and their winnings from last weekend’s show are: *Arlene Long, Centralia, won $11,550 and $500 worth of Citgo cash cards; *David McPeeks, Belleview, won $800 *Ron Reppy, Dittmer, won $700; *Shelbie Wilkinson, Potosi, won $600; *Randy Lynch, St. Louis (63116)*, won $600. Nine home partners won a total of $2,755 on the show. Paul Delashmit, Hillsboro, won $1,000; Kenneth Plummer, Forest City, won $1,055; Marilyn Hill, Poplar Bluff, won $280; Kathy Burrow, Deep Water, won $100; Sandra Cantrell, Potosi, won $80; Donna Sundhausen, Morrison, won $70; David Lewis, Columbia, and James Wilson, Eureka, both won $60 each; and Darrell Bodenhammer, Wheatland, won $50. Six contestants and nine home partners are selected each week. To become a contestant on "Fun & Fortune," you must play the Lottery’s Scratchers game by the same name. Match any of "Your Numbers" to either of the "Fun & Fortune Numbers" to win the prize shown. If the numbers match and the prize won is a television symbol, you are automatically a contestant on the game show; if the numbers match and the prize won is an "ENTRY" prize, you can send it in for a chance for your name to be drawn as a contestant or home partner. Stage contestants could win more than $250,000 in the weekly show.
