Palmyra Resident Stunned by Win

Zachariah Davis, 22, enjoys playing Missouri Lottery Scratchers tickets every so often, typically as an impulse buy when he’s at a convenience store. The practice has landed the Palmyra resident with a few prizes before, but none of them compare to the $30,000 top prize he uncovered on July 29 off a “$30 Grand” Scratchers ticket.

“I picked that game because it had one of those ‘new’ stickers on it in the case,” recalled Davis. “I didn’t play it until I got home. I was in my truck and couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I thought I was going to throw up.”

Davis hastily met up with a couple of friends to get a second opinion. Once they all had their turn at checking the ticket over, the group traveled to Lottery Headquarters in Jefferson City to claim Davis’ top prize. At the time of claiming, Davis planned on paying off his truck with the win and put the rest into his savings account for some financial security.

The 22-year-old purchased his winning ticket from Abel’s Quik Shop, 100 N. Main St., in Palmyra.
$30 Grand” was introduced on June 22 and has more than $7 million in remaining prizes. The $2 game offers players the chance to win prizes ranging from $2 to $30,000. Find information about all Missouri Lottery games, including remaining Scratchers prize amounts, here at MOLottery.com.
