A stop for her favorite game resulted in a $10,000 Missouri Lottery win for one O’Fallon woman. Jeanette Goldsmith, 54, said she enjoys playing crossword games, and when she saw the new game, “Double Triple Crossword,” she just had to get some. She bought a few of the new game at Circle K, 1750 O’Fallon Road, in St. Charles.
“That’s why I got excited when these new ones came in,” she explained. “They just take a little bit longer to do, and you get excited. You have to watch every letter!”
She uncovered the $10,000 prize while scratching the ticket at home. Goldsmith had her children confirm her good fortune.
“Then I ran in and had my son check my scratch-off with me,” she declared.  “He did, and he was like, ‘Yeah. You got eight.’”
Players win amounts on the “Double Triple Crossword” game by uncovering letters to spell words. The number of words determines the prize amount.
“I was like, ‘Oh, I need this letter, and I need this letter. I already have this letter. Oh!’” recalled Goldsmith.
She didn’t have time to think about how to spend the money. She drove right to the St. Louis Lottery office to claim her prize on July 27.
“Savings, for right now,” she said.
Double Triple Crossword” is a $5 game that officially began July 20. The game features a top prize of $100,000.
