A trip “home” for one Texas man started with a Missouri Lottery windfall. Chris Brown of Fort Worth, Texas, won $100,000 on his second day visiting Missouri. Brown, 49, is retired from the U.S. Navy and currently works for the Military Sealift Command. When he’s not refueling ships on the ocean, he sometimes takes long trips back to Missouri to visit family and friends around Clinton. He started playing Lottery tickets right away and found a big one at Slugger’s 66 Service, 1805 E. Ohio, in Clinton.

“Well, I bought a couple in Rich Hill and scratched them. I think I won $20,” began Brown. “I got up this morning, and I was going to run an errand. I went to the hardware store, and when I came out, I went to Slugger’s. When I’m in town, I usually buy Lottery tickets there. There was a girl that won there before, like $4 million a few years ago. So, I always buy a ticket there.”

When he was scratching his “Millionaire Riches” Scratchers ticket later at his friend’s house, he was about to discount his “lucky” purchase.

“Well, it looks like Slugger’s didn’t pay off,” he told his friend. “I started to put it down, and I said, ‘Oh, wait a minute. There’s a 26.’

“I scratched off the amount, and it said $100,000,” continued Brown. “I was like, ‘Whoa!’ Actually, it made me kind of nervous.”

He couldn’t think of anything he needed, so Brown didn’t offer any plans for the prize. He plans to save it, and maybe buy a few more Scratchers while he’s in Missouri.

“I’ve got another one for $20 that I have to cash in,” he admitted.
Millionaire Riches” is a $10 game that officially began April 6. The game features a top prize of $1 million. To date, more than $28 million in prizes, including two top prizes, remain in the game. Track prizes remaining for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket here at MOLottery.com.
