A man from South Greenfield claimed the winning Missouri Lottery Show Me Cash jackpot from July 4. Dale Burnett, 69, presented the winning ticket at the Springfield Lottery office on July 13. He purchased the $191,000 winning ticket at Casey’s General Store, 807 S. Main, in Lockwood. Burnett, who is retired from the U.S. Navy and delivers U.S. mail part-time, said he has been playing Show Me Cash regularly for about six months.

“I play all the time,” began Burnett. “Maybe once or twice a week. I think you have better odds; mainly, that’s the reason I play it (Show Me Cash).”

Though he found out he won a few days after the drawing, Burnett said he didn’t know what to do with the ticket right away.

“I put it in my wallet, carried it with me,” he said. “I went and signed it first thing.”

Now that he has claimed the $191,000 prize, Burnett said he planned to save most of it.

“I’m probably going to build a shop,” he offered. “A wood shop/welding shop combined. Work on vehicles, weld, whatever.”

He’ll probably keep playing Show Me Cash, too.

“At least Show Me Cash, probably Lotto. Just keep at it, I guess,” he suggested to other players.

The winning Show Me Cash numbers for July 4 were:  11, 25, 28, 35 and 37. Casey’s General Store received a $500 bonus for selling the winning jackpot ticket.

Show Me Cash is a daily Draw Game with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until someone wins. In the last year, 47 Show Me Cash jackpots have been awarded for an average amount of more than $181,000.
