A mother of two and full-time student from Jefferson City uncovered a $20,000 Missouri Lottery prize while visiting family in St. Louis. Danielle Smith, 30, purchased several Scratchers tickets at United Mart BP, 7430 Natural Bridge Road in St. Louis, on June 14. While scratching them at her aunt’s house, Smith found the prize on a $20 “$3,000,000 Taxes Paid” Scratchers game.

“I’ve never bought that one, and that one looked new to me, so that’s why I bought it,” began Smith. “That was the last one I scratched.”

She uncovered a “Win All” symbol and saw that all the prizes were $1,000 amounts.

“I was jumping up and down, screaming, excited,” recalled Smith. “It’s nice, because it is money I didn’t have.

“I’m going to pay my car off, and pay some bills,” she said of the windfall. “Nothing fun.”

It’s all business for the business administration major at Lincoln University. She admitted that she is still playing in hopes of hitting it big. Although she’s close to a degree, she’d be happy to not have to work.

“I would say to keep playing. I follow the website all the time, and I see people winning,” she explained. “I want to retire early. I’ve been working since I was 13.”

$3,000,000 Million Taxes Paid” is a $20 game that officially began May 18. As the name suggests, the game features a top prize of $3 million taxes paid.
