A truck driver from St. Thomas is looking forward to paying off some bills and watching the Royals® play the Cardinals® on June14 after uncovering a $20,000 prize on a $5 Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket. On May 21, Arthur “Artie” Buschjost, 52, said he took a $10 winning Lottery ticket back to B & K Quick Shoppe, Rural Route BB in St. Thomas to cash. He used $5 of his winnings to buy one “20X the Money” Scratchers and pocketed the other $5. That ticket turned out to be worth $20,000.

“I scratched it in the shed,” he said. “My knees and hands got to shaking real bad.”

Then Buschjost called his wife, Cindy, to tell her the good news.

A big Kansas City Royals fan, Buschjost is excited about using some of the prize winnings to take family with him to watch the Royals play the St. Louis Cardinals.

“Everybody has to dress in Royals blue,” he teased, though he said his family may do otherwise.

“My wife wants some repairs on our home, and I’ll get some new toys for my shed,” he added.

20X the Money” is a $5 Missouri Lottery Scratchers game with prizes ranging from $5 to $100,000. Track all remaining prize amounts for all Scratchers games at MOLottery.com.
