Car-Mac's Celebrates $2.2 Million Contribution to Education

Congratulations are in order for Car-Mac’s, 85 State Highway O in Steele, for being inducted into the Missouri Lottery’s Million Dollar Club for the fourth consecutive year. The locations in the group, which consists of 28 Missouri Lottery retailers, are honored for selling more than $1 million in Lottery products in 2014. To celebrate this distinct achievement, the Missouri Lottery hosted a customer appreciation event at the store on May 21.
“The real winner is public education,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery. “In the four years that they have been members of the Club, Car-Mac’s has generated more than $2.2 million for public education and has emerged as one of our top-selling locations. We can’t thank them enough for helping us Play It Forward.”
Reardon explained that the Million Dollar Club is a way to honor retail locations that are going above and beyond to raise money for a variety of education programs in Missouri, including A+ Scholarships, Virtual Schools, Special Education Excess Costs, Access Missouri, the Classroom Trust Fund, library acquisitions and educational scholarships.
“Lottery players who shop at Car-Mac’s are winning, too! Last year, more than $1.3 million in prizes were won with tickets purchased from this location. This customer appreciation event is our way to celebrate the store’s achievements with their customers,” Reardon concluded.
