$100,000 ELVIS TICKET SOLD IN BETHANY

Story Photo An insurance company representative from Wisconsin had a whole lot of shaking goin’ on late Sunday night, when she discovered one of the two $3 "ElvisÒ " Scratchers ticket she purchased in Bethany was worth $10,000. Melody Doverspike, 34, of Eau Galle, Wis., said she was traveling through Missouri to attend an insurance class in Kansas City this week, when she decided to stop at Sharps Amoco, 3800 Miller St. in Bethany and buy some tickets. She scratched them off late Sunday night in Kansas City, before going to sleep.

"I am a huge fan of him (Elvis)," she said.

Doverspike purchased two of the $3 "ElvisÒ " tickets, two of the $2 "Red Hot Money" tickets and two of the $1 "Quick Cash" tickets. Stubs from those three Scratchers games can be used to win prizes in the "Viva Las Luckytown" promotion.

Doverspike said she plans to use her prize money to buy a new Saturn car, pay off some bills and "have fun."

The "ElvisÒ " Scratchers game officially began on June 8.
