Rogersville Man Wins Cash on the 'Open Road'

Story Photo

A need to quench his thirst has landed a Rogersville resident a taxes-paid Missouri Lottery Scratchers prize. After leaving work in Springfield on May 4, Paul Lundquist, 34, stopped by Circle K, 2540 N. Glenstone Ave. in Springfield, to get a drink. While paying, Lundquist made a split-second decision to buy a “Harley-Davidson® Open Road” Scratchers ticket. The $5 impulse decision is paying off for the factory worker in the form of a $21,500 prize.
While claiming his prize at the Lottery’s Springfield regional office on May 5, Lundquist, a first-time winner, said he was in the Circle K parking lot when he realized he had uncovered a second-tier Harley-Davidson® motorcycle prize. However, the husband and father-of-two decided to opt for the equivalent $21,500 taxes-paid cash option in lieu of the motorcycle. At the time of claiming, Lundquist had yet to decide on any specific expenditures with his prize.
Harley-Davidson® Open Road” is a $5 Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket that was officially introduced on March 9. The game offers more than $8 million in prizes ranging from $5 to $75,000, including hundreds of Harley-Davidson licensed prize packages. Lundquist was the third player to claim a second-tier motorcycle prize, with three others remaining. Find information on all Missouri Lottery Scratchers games here at MOLottery.com.
