Erin Hartnagle was “having a good day” when she stopped for gas on April 14, so she decided to buy a lottery ticket.  That good feeling resulted in a $100,000 payday, when she won on a “$100 Million Cash Bonanza” Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket.

The Wentzville native purchased her winning ticket at QuikTrip, 8334 Highway N, in Lake St. Louis.  She decided to take the ticket home to scratch later.

“I was having dinner with my eight-year-old daughter when I scratched the ticket,” she recalled.  “I started screaming with excitement, and it made my daughter cry.”

Hartnagle, 36, called her husband with the exciting news, but she was met with disbelief.

“My husband didn’t believe me when I called him.  He made me text him a picture of the ticket before he would believe me,” she laughed.

Hartnagle works fulltime at a bank, and she and her husband just started a pest control business called Mosquito Joe of St. Charles County. They plan to invest their winnings in the new venture.

“I’d love to get a new luxury car, too,” she confided.

$100 Million Cash Bonanza” is a $20 game that offers more than $100 million in cash prizes and a top prize of $4 million.
