A couple from Rolla is making plans for their honeymoon after uncovering a $20,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket. Kimberly Peacock, 32, bought the winning “$20,000 Taxes Paid” Scratchers ticket at Rolla Motomart, 119 Howard Johnson Dr., in Rolla. Her fiancé, Myron, uncovered the prize in the parking lot.

“He showed me, and we looked it at,” began Peacock. “I didn’t believe it. It came at a good time, because we’re getting married Saturday.”

The two drove to Jefferson City the next day, April 21, to claim the prize. They are used to long drives. Kimberly works as an operations manager for call centers in Steelville and Waynesville; Myron drives to Owensville to work at a publishing plant. They also want to travel for a honeymoon.

“Well, now we do, because this will help,” said Kimberly. “Bills, honeymoon and savings. But, yeah, we were hoping to go on a honeymoon in July, so this will help us out. Definitely.”

Peacock claimed the third top prize in the game. The Lottery pays the taxes, so they received a check for $20,000.

“I think we should go to a beach, but we haven’t decided yet,” she said.

“Don’t spend your paycheck on it,” she counseled others. “But play to win.”

$20,000 Taxes Paid” is a $2 game that officially began Dec. 29, 2014. More than $4 million in prizes, including three top prizes, remain in the game. Track prizes remaining for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers game here at MOLottery.com.
