$1 Million Mega Millions Ticket Claimed

Story Photo

A Kansas City woman has claimed a $1 million Missouri Lottery prize, assigning a portion to three other women. K. Porter, 54, presented the $1 million Mega Millions ticket at the Kansas City Lottery office on April 10. The winning Quick Pick ticket was from the March 24 drawing and was purchased at QuikTrip, 601 NW 68th St., in Kansas City. The winning numbers for that drawing were:  2, 23, 32, 45 and 55.

Porter will get the lion share of the prize, but she named three other women who will receive a portion equal to about $50,000 after taxes. Those winners are:  J. Carlson of Kansas City;  E. Major of Blue Springs; and K. Ford of Sunrise Beach. QuikTrip received a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Mega Millions is twice-weekly Draw Game with jackpots that start at $15 million. Players win $1 million for matching five white-ball numbers. For an extra dollar at the time of purchase, players can add the Megaplier and multiply all non-jackpot prizes by a Megaplier number drawn along with the winning numbers. The Megaplier number of two on March 24 would have resulted in a $2 million prize.
