A great-grandmother from Macon is the first Missouri Lottery player to win a top prize on the “7-11-21” Scratchers game. Judith Romanetto, 70, purchased the $7,000 winning ticket at Break Time, 1305 N. Missouri in Macon, on April 14.

“I like the crosswords,” began Romanetto. “That’s my favorite game, the crosswords. But, I don’t know, maybe ‘7-11-21’ is my favorite now!”

She described uncovering the prizes at home.

“I scratched the first number; it was 11. And I scratched the amount, and it said $500, and I thought, ‘Oh, boy. $500!’ I scratched the next number, and it was a 21,” recalled Romanetto.

She eventually added up the winning amount of $7,000.

“It was like 9:30, 10 p.m., and I wondered, ‘Who is up so I can call them?’ I got a hold of all three of my kids and a good friend of mine. Then I went back to Break Time. They were very happy. They congratulated me,” she said.

Romanetto traveled to Jefferson City to claim the prize the following day. She said the prize was a belated birthday present, but she admitted she would probably spend most of it on her grandchildren.

“I’ve got two grandkids graduating next month,” she said. “I won’t have any problem spending it.”

7-11-21” is a $1 game that officially began April 13. Romanetto claimed the first of seven top prizes. More than $7 million in prizes remain. Track prizes remaining for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers game here at MOLottery.com.
