A Kansas City man and his fiancée now have plans to start their marriage in a new house, thanks to a win on a Missouri Lottery $250K Triple Play ticket. Jerome Clarke, 66, matched all four numbers drawn in the March 11 drawing to earn the game’s top prize of $250,000.

“I was kind of walking six inches in the air for a minute there,” he said of his initial reaction after scanning the ticket and realizing it was a winner.

Before heading to the Lottery’s Kansas City office to claim his prize, Clarke picked up his fiancée, Jackie, who said her first thoughts about the win were, “Yippee!”

“We’re going to pay for this house we’re trying to buy,” he shared, with Jackie adding that this win came “right on time” for their summer wedding.

Clarke said he plays “a little of everything” when it comes to Missouri Lottery games.

“Follow your dream, but be conscious of what you’re spending,” he wisely added.

Clarke purchased his winning ticket at QuikTrip, 11101 E. 40 Highway in Independence, allowing Quick Pick to randomly select his winning numbers of 14, 28, 45 and 57. QuikTrip will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the top-prize ticket.

$250K Triple Play is a $2 game that includes three separate games with nine chances to win on a single ticket. In addition to the $250,000 top prize, it also offers smaller prizes for matching two or three numbers. Players can win up to $250,000 on Game 1, up to $10,000 on Game 2 and up to $5,000 on Game 3.
