Poplar Bluff Grandmother Uncovers $25,000

Unfortunately, due to it being out of stock, Bobbie Pijanowski was not able to purchase her favorite Missouri Lottery bingo-inspired Scratchers game on Feb. 14. The Poplar Bluff resident is not too upset about the circumstance, though, since she won $25,000 on the “Red Hot Cherries” Scratchers game she purchased instead. Pijanowski, 46, purchased her winning ticket from Kerr’s Express, 2930 N. Westwood Blvd., in Poplar Bluff.
“My favorite games are the bingo Scratchers, but I think I’m going to buy some more cherry games now,” declared the excited winner.
That night, Pijanowski uncovered 12 cherries in the game’s play area to win the second-tier prize. The mother of four and grandmother of five confirmed her win at the same retail location the following day, but admitted that she was hesitant to accept her good fortune.
“I didn’t want to believe I had won until I got to the Lottery office,” she said.
Paying bills is the first expenditure the grandmother is planning to make with her prize, followed by some home upgrades.
Red Hot Cherries” is a $3 Scratchers game that was officially introduced on Dec. 29, 2014. The game, which offers prizes ranging from $3 to $50,000, boasts more than $5 million in remaining prizes. Pijanowski is the first player to claim a $25,000 second-tier prize. Find information on all Scratchers games, including remaining prize amounts, here at MOLottery.com.
