A Carl Junction man claimed the first top prize in the second version of the popular Missouri Lottery Playbook Scratchers game. Danny Edens, 43, said he had his eye on the new game and decided to buy one when he stopped for a Powerball ticket. He purchased the winning “Mega Multiplier Playbook” ticket at Horton’s Pizza Plus, 1302 S. Schiffendecker in Joplin, on Feb. 11.
“I was in there today, and I thought, ‘Well, I’ll just go ahead a take one.’ I was buying a Powerball, because everybody has been raving about the big Powerball tonight,” began Edens.

He scratched the ticket in his truck and made his way back inside when the numbers started to add up.

“OK, I’m either dreaming or something’s going on,” thought Edens. “I was about to pass out.”

Edens is the first player to win a top prize in this version of the Missouri Lottery “Playbook” Scratchers game. The $20 game features a “book” of six themed Scratchers tickets.

“Just play if you want to win,” he counseled others.

Edens said he would “pay bills” with the windfall. He also plans to purchase a new home for his family.

Mega Multiplier Playbook” officially began Feb. 2. The second game of its type in Missouri has more than $27 million in prizes remaining, including three top prizes. Track prizes remaining for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers game here at MOLottery.com.
