Kennett Man Hits $371,000 Jackpot

A Kennett man matched all five numbers drawn in the Jan. 16 Show Me Cash drawing to take home the game’s first jackpot prize of the year. Larry Neighbors used Quick Pick to randomly select his numbers – 10, 13, 33, 34 and 37 – to win the hefty $371,000 jackpot.

The retiree purchased his winning ticket at Town & Country, 1618 St. Francis St. in Kennett, and scanned it at retail the following day – though he didn’t realize he’d scored the jackpot prize right away.

“I thought it said I won $371,” he shared, “But then the clerk said, ‘I think you’re going to have to go out of town to cash this one.’”

Since all winnings of more than $600 must be claimed at one of the Lottery’s four offices statewide, Neighbors made the trip to Springfield to claim his prize on Jan. 23.

Neighbors and his wife, Brenda, plan to use the prize money to pay bills and bolster their bank account. Town & Country will receive a $500 bonus for selling the jackpot ticket.

Show Me Cash is a $1 daily Draw Game with a jackpot that starts at $50,000 and grows until someone wins. Neighbors’ ticket marks the 343rd Show Me Cash jackpot prize since the game began in 2008. In 2014, there were 51 winning Show Me Cash jackpot tickets – with an average prize of more than $186,000.
